What should a campsite’s digital guide include?
Reception, pool, shop and restaurant times, a map of the areas and services, the entertainment programme, rules on quiet hours, vehicles, barbecues and pets, waste sorting, Wi-Fi, emergency numbers and suggested excursions. The information that changes often, such as times and activities, is what makes the digital version more useful than paper.
How do you give campsite guests information without paper?
Create a digital page with all the information and link it to a QR code displayed at reception, on the pitches and in the facilities. Guests open it with their phone camera, with no app, and on the Pro plan they read it in their own language. When a time changes, you update it once online.
Why a digital guide on a campsite
A campsite changes all the time. The pool opens later early in the season, the shop stays open longer in August, the entertainment programme changes every week. There are many guests, they arrive and leave at all hours, and many do not speak Italian.
Notices on the board and the sheet handed out on arrival soon go out of date: a changed time means reprinting and rehanging, and guests with the old sheet keep reading it. Meanwhile, reception answers the same questions over and over.
With a digital guide the times live in one place. You change the text and the page updates for everyone, while the printed QR code stays the same. The full comparison between printed sheets and a digital guide is in LOQY vs printed sheets.
What to put in a digital guide for campsites
Start from the questions reception gets. The table says what to write and where it goes on the property page in LOQY.
| Information | What to write | Where it goes in LOQY | Plan |
|---|---|---|---|
| Reception | What to write: Opening times, phone, what guests can ask for | Where it goes in LOQY: Useful information and Contacts | Plan: Free |
| Arrival and departure | What to write: Check-in and check-out times, where to stop with the car or camper | Where it goes in LOQY: Check-in and check-out | Plan: Free |
| Map of the areas | What to write: Pitches, bathrooms, pool, shop, barbecue area, camper service point | Where it goes in LOQY: Useful information; with Pro, the map as a PDF in an additional information entry | Plan: Free; PDF with Pro |
| Services | What to write: Pool, shop, restaurant, laundry, bike hire | Where it goes in LOQY: Services | Plan: Free |
| Pool and shop | What to write: Up-to-date times, seasonal ones included | Where it goes in LOQY: Useful information; with Pro, one additional information entry each | Plan: Free; dedicated entries with Pro |
| Restaurant | What to write: Breakfast, lunch and dinner times, and the menu | Where it goes in LOQY: Breakfast, lunch and dinner; with Pro, the menu as a PDF | Plan: Free; PDF menu with Pro |
| Entertainment | What to write: The week’s programme, with times and places | Where it goes in LOQY: Useful information; with Pro, an entry with the programme as a PDF | Plan: Free; PDF with Pro |
| Rules | What to write: Quiet hours, vehicles and speed, barbecues, pets, visitors | Where it goes in LOQY: House rules | Plan: Free |
| Waste sorting | What to write: Where the bins are, which is for what, when they are emptied | Where it goes in LOQY: Useful information or House rules | Plan: Free |
| Wi-Fi | What to write: Network, password and areas covered | Where it goes in LOQY: Network name and password | Plan: Free |
| Emergency numbers | What to write: 112, night reception, out-of-hours doctor | Where it goes in LOQY: Emergency numbers | Plan: Free |
| Transport | What to write: Shuttle, bus stop, station | Where it goes in LOQY: Transport; with Pro, the timetable as a PDF | Plan: Free; PDF with Pro |
| Excursions and surroundings | What to write: Beaches, trails, rentals, with the Google Maps link | Where it goes in LOQY: Local tips | Plan: Pro |
| Photos and video | What to write: Pool, pitches, bungalows | Where it goes in LOQY: Gallery | Plan: Pro |
Rules work better with their reason and written kindly: there are examples in Holiday rental house rules to print. LOQY does not draw the campsite map: if you have one, you attach it as a PDF.
Where to put the QR codes on a campsite
A single QR code opens the guide for the whole campsite. You can print it as many times as you like and hang it where guests stop or wait.
- Reception: next to the desk and on the door, for guests who arrive when it is closed.
- Pitch markers and bungalows: an outdoor sticker or a small plate, at eye level.
- Bathroom blocks: near the entrance, where people wait. It is the right place for cleaning times and waste sorting.
- Bar, restaurant and shop: on the counter or the tables, for times and menus.
- Notice board at the entrance and the pool: instead of notices that change often.
Outdoors, printing matters: laminate the sheet or use an outdoor sticker, and test the scan with a phone before hanging it. Placement, size and printing, point by point, are in Where to put the QR code for guests.
How it works with LOQY
LOQY is a digital guest guide that opens from the QR code, in the browser. For a campsite the steps are these:
- Create your account and the campsite page. The Free plan covers one property, with no credit card.
- Fill in check-in and check-out, Wi-Fi, services, rules and emergency numbers.
- Write reception, pool and shop times and the week’s programme in Useful information.
- Download the QR code as a PDF, print it and hang it at reception, on the pitches and by the bathrooms.
- When a time changes, edit it in your dashboard: the page updates and the QR codes you hung stay valid.
On the Pro plan the guide is translated automatically into the languages you turn on, and guests pick theirs on the page. You add additional information entries with a PDF, such as the map or the entertainment programme, the restaurant menu as a PDF, the gallery with photos and video, and local tips for beaches, trails and excursions. The Pro plan costs €10 a month or €90 a year, VAT excluded, with a 7-day trial and no card: if you do not add a card, you go back to Free.
For a large campsite or a holiday village, if you need dedicated onboarding, custom branding or priority support, write to support@loqy.info and ask for a custom quote. LOQY does not connect to a property management or booking system.
Frequently asked questions
- Do guests have to download an app?
- No. The guide is a web page: guests scan the QR code with their phone camera, or open the link, and read it in the browser. They do not create an account or leave a name or email.
- Can I publish the entertainment programme?
- Yes. You can write it in Useful information, on the Free plan too. On the Pro plan you give it a dedicated additional information entry and attach the programme as a PDF. When the week changes you update the page, and the QR codes you hung stay the same.
- Does it work for campsites with many pitches?
- Yes. The guide is a single page for the whole campsite and the same QR code goes on as many pitches as you like: you do not need one page per pitch. For a large campsite with dedicated onboarding or custom branding, ask support@loqy.info for a custom quote.
- Is the guide multilingual?
- On the Pro plan, yes: you turn on the languages and LOQY translates the content automatically. Guests pick the language on the page. On the Free plan the guide stays in the language you write in.
- Can I add the restaurant menu?
- Yes. Breakfast, lunch and dinner times are on the Free plan. On the Pro plan you attach a PDF menu for each meal and replace it when it changes, without reprinting.
