What a digital guest guide is
A digital guest guide is a web page that collects the stay details: Wi‑Fi, arrival instructions, house rules, appliances, useful numbers and local tips. The guest opens it by scanning a QR code or from a link, with no app to download and no account to create. You update it when you want, so nothing has to be reprinted.
A paper folder in the room works until a time or the Wi‑Fi password changes: every change means reprinting and replacing the sheets. With the page you edit the text and the QR code already on the wall stays the same. Guests who do not use a phone can still have that QR code printed on a sheet, as a bridge to the page.
Is there a free digital guest guide?
Yes. On LOQY’s Free plan you create one property’s digital page and its printable QR code for free, with no credit card. If you run more properties, or you want translations, unlimited local tips and the gallery, you move to Pro: €10 a month or €90 a year, excl. VAT.
What to put in the guide, in order of usefulness
Start with what guests ask as soon as they arrive. The rest can wait. In LOQY, arrival, Wi‑Fi, house rules, contacts and useful numbers are part of the Free plan’s basic information. Local tips, translations, the gallery and PDFs are on the Pro plan.
- Arrival and access: address, how to get there, where to find the keys, parking. Send a key-box or door code privately: anyone with the link can open the page.
- Wi‑Fi: network name and password.
- Appliances: how to turn on the oven, washing machine and dishwasher.
- Heating and air conditioning: where the controls are.
- Waste sorting: which bin, and which day it goes out.
- House rules: quiet hours, smoking, pets, extra guests. The house rules template is ready to copy.
- 112, and the host’s phone number.
- Check-out: time, and what to leave tidy.
- Tips about the area: where to eat, shop and what to see. In LOQY, local tips are on the Pro plan.
If you have a printed welcome book today, the holiday home welcome book template has the same sections, in Italian and English, ready to copy into the guide.
Digital guide, PDF or paper folder
A PDF and a paper folder are still useful. The page does not replace them in every case: it saves you from redoing them when the information changes often.
| LOQY page | Paper folder | ||
|---|---|---|---|
| Updating | LOQY page: You edit it in your account. The QR code stays the same. | PDF: You need a new file, and anyone with the old one does not see it. | Paper folder: You reprint the sheet and replace it in every room. |
| Translating | LOQY page: On the Pro plan, into the languages you turn on. The guest picks the language on the page. | PDF: One file per language, redone at every change. | Paper folder: One printed copy per language. |
| Reprint | LOQY page: Not needed, once the QR code is on display. | PDF: Needed if you want everyone on the new version. | Paper folder: Every change is reprinted. |
| Offline | LOQY page: Opening the page needs a connection. | PDF: It can be saved on the phone and read offline. | Paper folder: It can be read with no phone. |
| Where the guest finds it | LOQY page: From the QR code or the link, in the browser, with no app. | PDF: As an attachment in a message, or as a file in the room. | Paper folder: In the room, if nobody has moved it. |
Paper still helps guests who do not want to use a phone, and a printed QR code is the bridge: the sheet stays in the room, the page stays up to date. The longer comparison with printed sheets is LOQY vs printed sheets. If you are looking at another tool, there is also LOQY vs Ospitae.
Where to put the QR code
Put the QR code where guests already look: the entrance, the kitchen, the room, reception. Where to place it, point by point, is in Where to put the guest QR code.
How to create your free guide with LOQY, in 4 steps
It takes four steps.
- Create your account and choose a plan. You can start on Free, with no credit card.
- Add the property information: Wi‑Fi, arrival, rules and contacts.
- Download the QR code as a PDF and print it.
- The guest scans it with the camera and opens the guide in the browser.
What the Free plan includes, and when to move to Pro
The Free plan includes one property, basic information, the QR code and total page views. It does not include local tips, translations, a photo and video gallery, PDFs, review links, additional information or the Guest Assistant.
Pro costs €10 a month or €90 a year, excl. VAT, with no fee per guest, and a 7-day trial with no card: if you do not add a card, you return to Free. It unlocks unlimited properties, translations into the languages you turn on, unlimited local tips, a photo and video gallery, PDF menus, additional information, colour themes and statistics on sections and tips. The Guest Assistant is on Pro, optional, and subject to availability: it answers only with the information you published.
The published plans, with prices excl. VAT, are on the LOQY homepage. Dedicated onboarding, custom branding or extra features are not a listed plan: write to support@loqy.info and ask for a custom quote.
Who it is for: holiday homes, B&Bs, hotels, campsites
In a holiday home the guide replaces the folder guests look for at night. You add arrival, Wi‑Fi and the rules, and you send the same link in your Airbnb or Booking message.
In a B&B a QR code in the room and in the breakfast room covers times, Wi‑Fi and house rules. You update breakfast or a time without redoing the sheets in every room. What to include, with a welcome letter to copy, is in B&B welcome book.
In a hotel a QR code in the room, or at reception, opens the same page. A changed time updates without reprinting every floor. For dedicated onboarding or custom branding, ask support@loqy.info for a custom quote.
On a campsite the page holds pitches, bathrooms, waste sorting and reception hours. If a service closes, you change it and the QR code at the entrance stays valid. What to put in it, point by point, is in Digital guide for campsites.
On a farm stay you can add meals, how to get there and what to do nearby. A PDF menu and local tips are on the Pro plan. LOQY does not handle commissions or deals with local businesses: tips are text and links you publish yourself.
If you run several units, the Pro plan has no property limit: they stay in the same account, each with its own page and QR code. LOQY does not connect to a property system, a channel manager or a calendar. For dedicated onboarding, write to support@loqy.info.
Frequently asked questions
- Do guests have to download an app?
- No. The guide is a web page. The guest opens it by scanning the QR code with the camera, or from the link, in the browser. They do not create an account and they do not leave a name or email.
- Can I edit the guide after printing the QR code?
- Yes. The QR code does not change. You edit the text in your account and the page updates: the next scan shows the new version, with nothing to reprint.
- Is the guide translated into the guest’s language?
- On the Pro plan you turn languages on and LOQY translates the content. The guest picks the language on the page. The Free plan stays in the language you write in.
- How long does it take to create?
- There are four steps: account, information, printing the QR code, scanning. If you already have the Wi‑Fi, times and rules to hand, the page is filled in one sitting.
- Does it work for hotels and campsites too?
- Yes. The same guide works for holiday homes, B&Bs, hotels, campsites and farm stays. The Free plan covers one property; with Pro you run as many as you have.
- Can I use the same guide on Airbnb and Booking?
- Yes, as a link or as a QR code. LOQY does not connect to the portals and does not take bookings: you paste the link into the welcome message, on Airbnb and on Booking, and you print the same QR code at the property.
